Playing Hard To Get

So my godson, Anthony Jakey, does not care for his nina...ahem, that would be ME! I know he doesn't know me well because we've only spoke on the phone before, but believe me, I've tried so many ways to get to him. Unfortunately, my methods haven't worked: I've gave him my super nice attitude, the guilt-trip where I tell him he makes me super sad when he doesn't hug or kiss me, I've even done the tough-love where I threaten to take all his Christmas gifts back if he doesn't hug or kiss me. LOL!

This all really sucks because I can't even take a decent picture of him and I because he does not want to be around me at all. I know this is all just a phase because I found out (the hard way) that he doesn't really care for girls.....and since I'm a girl, I'm not on his list of friends. He just wants to hang out with "the guys" like my brothers, boy cousins and basically anyone else that is of the male species. The only exception to this all is if you're his mommy ;)

He would only take this picture with me since his daddy was in the picture with us!

It was a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Eve was spent with my immediate family. We had a delicious teppenyaki lunch at Fiesta Resort, but the company was the best part of it all! My brother and his girlfriend, Alfreda and their son (my godson) Anthony Jacob are here from Portland, Oregon for the holidays so this was the first time my family was complete! After Christmas Eve mass, we had a nice dinner at my parents house and opened gifts.

The Lord God heard my prayers and santa did give me the best gift ever this Christmas: peace, love and happiness with my family :)

Christmas with my girls...

One tradition we have with my girlfriends is having our holiday dinners and celebrating each other's birthdays. Last week I had Christmas dinner with my girlfriends: Redie, Maisie and Tenta. We also surprised Maisie with a super advanced birthday blessings (her birthday is at the end of the month) because we know that once the holidays are upon us, we're all going to be busy with many holiday gatherings. She was truly surprised!

My White Christmas Cookies

We have this tradition with all the ladies in my family, it's called a Cookie Exchange. We all bring baked goodies and share with each other, do a small gift exchange and just hang out to kick off the holiday season. This year, our Cookie Exchange is set for this Sunday. I've been experimenting all weekend and finally came across a cookie I finally liked. It has coconut, macademia nuts and white chocolate chips. All of my favorite things in a cookie!!! I was trying to come up with a name and figured, I'll call it: WHITE CHRISTMAS COOKIES.

Ahhh, the good life.

Yesterday I received a beautiful Christmas treat from my friend, Frannie. She gave me this beautifully decorated container filled with chocolate covered almonds. They were soooooo yummy! It was so nicely wrapped, I was debating for a while if I should open it or not. LOL!
Of course, I could not resist and also spread a little bit of Christmas cheer by sharing, too :)

Today Floyd and I had lunch by the beach. He bought some hot lunch from one of his students at Saipan Southern High School. My initial thought: oh great! another typical bbq hot lunch! But to my surprise, it was a seafood hot lunch! Floyd said he bought it because there was no other place that had a seafood lunch like this --and all for only $5.00. Eat your heart out vendors of the Street Market!
The food was awesome, but the company and the ambiance of where we had lunch was even better!

"Aren't you going to miss this?" Floyd asked me.

"Yes." I said with a heavy heart and looked around. "This is just one of the many things that I'm gonna miss when we move."

Bacteria be gone!!!

I've had this sore throat since Sunday. I was in some serious denial because I went to work even though the symptoms were more than obvious: itchy thoat, ringing in the ears, coughing. I also went walking on Monday evening, even though Grassy highly recommended not to do so. Bad move. I made it all worse! While Grassy was doing the 'I told you so' dance, I was on my way to see my doctor. And as I suspected, I had a bad case of the sore throat. Oh man, I thought to myself, I'm going to miss work.
So I was perscribed some antibiotics and was allowed to take cough medicine to help with my cough and congestion. Along with that, I looked up some home remedies on the internet (my addiction!). I swear, I was so bored at home, but I knew I had to rest. I'm not feeling 100% better, but I am feeling better than I was 2 days ago. Biba NyQuil! Biba antibiotics! Die bacteria and germs.....DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY ADDICTIONS!!!

There are three things I'm most addicted to:

First, the internet.
I have this thing about checking my e-mail constantly, reading things online like news and blogs. I also love finding websites that are interactive and oh and don't forget SHOPPING ONLINE!

Second, watching informercials.
You know, I think I've watched that Bare Minerals informercial a million times and yet, knowing that I've seen that informercial so many times, I still manage to get hooked. I don't know exactly what draws me into it, but it's crazy. By the time I realized I'm hooked, the whole 30-minute informercial is over.

Lastly, my love for bags.
Not just hand bags. All kinds of bags! Ask anyone, I have bags in different colors, styles, shapes and sizes! Brand names are nice, but I'm more into the style of the bag. When we buy the brand name bags, you're more careful with how the bag is used. Otherwise, any other bag could be in the most smoke-filled club, the most smoked out BBQ or any of the little kids could play with it like it was their own.

What are your addictions???
